Alan France, Operations Director at Idhammar Systems, and Bob King, Group Head of Operational Excellence for Premier Foods, presented a workshop on the strategic imperative for reducing energy consumption, at the European Manufacturing Strategies Summit in Dusseldorf, Germany, on 7th October.
The pair discussed the dramatic results that an improvement in OEE has had on Premier Foods’ bottom line by reducing the company’s annual gas spend by nearly half a million pounds per annum. As a result, this Idhammar/Premier Foods project was also shortlisted for the ‘Operational Excellence’ Strategic Manufacturing Award 2008.
